This fabulous, little Log House is handmade in our workshop, not by little elves, but by our master craftsmen working with logs harvested from a tree farm in Northern New England.

Handcrafted log houses were built for centuries in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and Russia, using only an axe and knife, but in the early 18th century, the Scandinavian settlers of New Sweden brought the craft to North America where it was quickly adopted by other colonists and by Native Americans.

Each Log House has its own personality and lovable characteristics. No two logs are the same shape, each may have different places where branches had been located, and each may be slightly different in diameter, all of which means that each House is unique.

Although we can make the Log House any size, the one shown here is 4í x 6í x 5í tall, just perfect for small children’s fantasy play. Open sides means that no child (or unwelcome visitor) can "hide” in here, but the posts and rainproof roof provide an excellent sense of enclosure that children love.

Typically sent fully assembled, but may be disassembled and sent as a kit.

During the season when the bark is “tight,” we will probably make the decision to keep it on. However, should it arrive on your premises without bark, it’s because It was cut during the “loose bark” season, and therefore subject to shipping damage.
