Garden Benches are designed to be accessible, and we recommend that they be placed in key locations that are shady and that invite supervisors to be "where the action is" so they can stay engaged with the children.

Benches invite conversations, create meeting places, provide a place for quiet contemplation, act as collection tables, and are wonderful for socializing while also giving children a place to rest while playing. We've placed them in gardens, near field edges, at the base of "mountains," along trails, and in patios (shown here).

These are also great for outdoor classrooms. They’re large enough that one child can sit to learn while also having room on the bench for a knapsack, lunch, books, things collected during a class assignment, and so on.

Garden Benches are made using child-friendly, treated lumber, but if desired, seats can be made of cedar or composite material to withstand very harsh conditions (let us know, and we'll get you a quote).

Standard bench size is 4'x16". This one has no backrest. The bench can also be ordered with one or two arms (to meet full accessibility standards), and can be ordered in various lengths upon request.

Kit includes all materials, hardware, and simple assembly instructions. (Images may not be exact representations of garden benches, depending on materials used, and on the amount of time exposed to the elements.)
